THE SHADES OF BLUE
from Grand Rapids Community College

            This extraordinary vocal ensemble has a wide range of repertory and delights audiences throughout the Midwest.  They have performed at the WM Vocal Jazz Festival in Kalamazoo for over 20 times and have been invited to participate in the New York Voices Jazz Festival in March.  They are under the direction of Dr. Stephen Barton with Dr. Robin Connell on the piano, leading the rhythm section (drums and bass).  Robin is a renowned jazz musician in the area, and Steve recently accepted the position as Director of Choral Activities and Chair of the Voice Department at GRCC.  Desdemona’s Dining Room will be magnificently decorated for the event, and Andrea has a delicious menu:
